ADMINISTRATION

Like the other universities in the country, Adekunle Ajasin University has a Convocation, which meets once a year under the chairmanship of the Chancellor for the conferment of degrees and certificates. In addition it has a Governing Council headed by a Pro-Chancellor. The Governing Council serves as the official link between the University and the Proprietor, represented by the Visitor, who is always the incumbent State Governor. It formulates and lays down broad policy guidelines for the University in addition to overseeing its general finances. Next in rank to the Pro-Chancellor is the Vice Chancellor, whose responsibility is to chair Senate and direct the day-to-day affairs of the University. Senate is the highest policy making body in the University in matters pertaining to teaching and research as well as the regulation of the conduct of students.

The Vice Chancellor is assisted in his onerous duties by Principal Officers, namely, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, the Registrar, the Bursar, and the University Librarian, as well as by Deans of Faculties and the Postgraduate School, and Directors of Institutes. All Deans and Directors report to Senate through the Vice Chancellor.
